Brett Lawrie was re-evaluated on Saturday and while still dealing with a calf bruise, was cleared to play and is in Saturday's lineup. Lawrie has a very sore calf from his adventurous fall in trying to catch a foul ball earlier this week and tumbling over a railing onto the cement floor of the photographer’s well. It is not clear that the Blue Jays can stand to move Edwin Encarnacion back to third base. Sure he will stay in the lineup but E5 would severely weaken their infield defense. The alternatives would be recently recalled Yan Gomes or veteran Omar Vizquel or maybe a combination of both of them. The lineup would be better with Encarnacion at third as it would free up more at bats for recently recalled outfielders Anthony Gose and Travis Snider.
