FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Scottsdale, Arizona – November 10, 2009 – Today, Mastersball and CREATiVESPORTS announced their intent to merge.
The move will bring together two fantasy industry stalwarts. Mastersball, founded in 1997, is a leader in providing in-depth analysis, research, and applications to the advanced fantasy baseball player. CREATiVESPORTS, founded by Lawr Michaels in 1996, is widely known for fantasy baseball analysis and content.
“This is an exciting time for Mastersball,” said original member Todd Zola. “Starting with the return of longtime friend and associate Rob Leibowitz and culminating with the addition of the great CREATiVESPORTS staff led by icon Lawr Michaels, we will be able to produce a more complete, well-rounded product while also returning to our roots of being the home for intelligent fantasy baseball discussion.”
"CREATiVESPORTS has long sought a partner to help drive the ever evolving Blog/Forum/Twitter technologies that allow greater interaction with our reader community,” explained Michaels. “Todd Zola and the Mastersball gang, with whom we have a shared respect and friendship for over ten years, and their savvy skills at identifying player projections, provide the perfect fit. I look forward to our new organization, and amazing cartel of writers, players and analysts, pushing as always to the forefront of fantasy baseball strategy, analysis and play.”
The Mastersball team will continue to feature the work of Zola, Leibowitz and Gary Jennison who warmly welcome Michaels, Brian Walton and JP Kastner into the fold. Kastner has been named the new organization’s Chief Operating Officer.
The new Mastersball has a total of seven seats in the prestigious LABR and Tout Wars experts’ leagues. In 2009 alone, their collected talent won two Tout Wars titles, two National Fantasy Baseball League Championships, a NFBC Satellite League Championship, and a NFBC NL Auction Championship, continuing a long history of success at high levels of play.
The combined entity will keep the Mastersball name and the http://www.mastersball.com URL. Mastersball also features a strong and vibrant message board community with hundreds of users.
